After the fact (The pygmy elephants in Sabah)

After sending the letter to the Japanese government,we learnt that there had been many appeals from environmental and other non-governmental organizations urging the Malaysian government to stop the export of the 12 pygmy elephants.

Moreover the Japanese government also has received many appeals urging to stop the import of them.

On the 20th of November,it was reported that the Sabah government has banned the export of Borneo pygmy elephants from the state.

The pygmy elephants in Sabah are considered endangered species and are protected under Category II of the Wildlife Conservation Enactment.
